Ann DeZort

Our world changed forever on Monday, December 4, 2017 when Ann T. DeZort of North Braddock, formerly of Swisshelm Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 88. She was born in Pittsburgh to the late Thelma Miller and August Miller on Aug. 11, 1929. Ann was an exceptional woman who was strong, wise, little, but mighty, sweet and a little sassy. She was always stylish and well organized. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, reading, sudoku and watching game shows. We were her greatest treasure and she was the heart and soul of our family. Ann lived a long beautiful life. She was the adored wife of the late Donald C. DeZort of 61 years. Loving mother to Donna Veltre and her husband, Tony, Arlene Checchio and her husband, Rick, and Mark and his late wife, Janet; grandmother of Heather, Heidi, Alyssa, Courtney, Shannon, Crista, Brittany and Shane; great-grandmother of Anthony, Jordan, Cianna, Jesse, Riley, Aaliyah, Mayes, Zachary, and Chloe; sister of Helen Bobby, Nancy Carrigg, Barbara Cowell and her late brothers, Sonny Miller and Paul Miller; and many loving nieces and nephews. We will hold her forever in our hearts. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday Only at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale.
