Charles was a hard worker and when he retired from the “Switch”, he went straight back to work as a grandfather; or, as everyone called him, “Pap”. He cared for his five grandkids who adored him. He also lovingly cared for his wife as she battled cancer until her passing in 1998. His favorite pastimes were doing puzzles, spending time with his family, keeping busy around the house, and playing with the dogs. He was lighthearted and kind, quick to laugh and liked to joke. He would do anything to help family and friends and he never complained, even in the end. He leaves behind a lifetime of happy memories that his family will cherish forever. Friends received Friday, August 26, 2022 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME INC.
