Connor Ryan

Obituary of Connor Joseph Ryan

"Connor Joseph Ryan, age 23 of Pittsburgh, and previously of Wallingford, Rochester, Las Vegas, North Haven, Boston, Pittsburgh, Altmar, and Newport News, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, December 13, 2019. Connor leaves behind his mother, Barbara (Mum) Ryan, his siblings, Ian (Broski) and Amy (Woman) Ryan, and his grandmother, Carol (Gram) Ryan. Also surviving are his numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends scattered around the country. Connor was known for his dark humor, quiet intelligence, unprejudiced kindness, and especially his bad cooking skills. He had a voracity for life, love, and profound personal connection that earned him a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. Matched only by his love for good food and craft beers, Connor liked playing video games, rocking out to 90s grunge music, and questioning conventionally accepted ideas. He was a source of infinitely interesting conversation, and he faced life's crazy unpredictability with passion, resilience, and a stubborn (yet admirable) disregard for the world's expectations for him. Connor searched unceasingly for his place and purpose in life, and we find comfort in knowing his search ended in a joyful reunion with his beloved father, James (Papi) Ryan, Jr., his maternal grandparents, D. John (Jack) and Marguerite K. (Margie) Grayson, his paternal grandfather, James Ryan, Sr., his great uncle, James H. Wurz, Jr., and his cousins Kelsey Folmar Windham and David Harder, Jr. While the world is undeniably darker without him, the pain felt by those he left behind reminds us of the mark that his love has forever left on our souls. Connor's life and love will be celebrated at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, Connecticut, on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers and in his honor, the family requests that donations are made to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. Also, go watch the Big Lebowski in memory of Connor (The Dude) Ryan." www.niedfuneralhome.com
