Obituary of Priscilla M. Almazan

PRISCILLA M. ALMAZANOn Tuesday, June 5, 2012, after a year and a half illness, Priscilla exchanged her old rugged cross for a crown. She was a loving and devoted wife of 30 years to Manny St. Mary, a dear aunt to Lorna and Loren. She was born in the Philippines and came to the U.S. at an early age. She devoted her life to her passion for fine cuisine and as a culinary chef for 30 years. She was a proprietor of several restaurants in Wisconsin, Chicago, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach and Pittsburgh. Also, she was the private chef of the Doubleday family in New York, Isaac Stern (international violin virtuoso) and Pittsburgh's most loved philanthropists Henry and Elsie Hillman and other prominent American families. Priscilla is a charter and founding partner of the GracePointe Church. The scripture conveys that "death is swallowed up in victory." Friends will be received on Sunday only, June 10, 2012, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home, Inc. 7441 Washington Street, Swissvale, PA. A service will be held at the GracePointe Church at 1462 Brookline Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15226 on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. EVERYONE TO GATHER AT THE CHURCH.
