Bart J. Mele On Friday, November 26, 2021, after a long illness, of Braddock Hills. Husband of the late Elaine Stim Mele; loving father of Joseph Michael Mele and his wife, Ann of Gibsonia; dear Pap of Anna, Joseph, Julia and Sophia; brother of Mary Abel and her husband, Ted, of Swisshelm Park, Father Joseph Mele of St. Jude Parish and the late Anthony Mele and his late wife, Dorothy and Cam Mele and his surviving wife, Sharon. Son of the late Joseph "Jack" Mele and Rose (Bonacci) Mele. Bart is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Bart retired after 30 years as a school-teacher and coach at Swissvale-Woodland Hills Schools. He was best recognized as Uncle Bart or Coach to all who knew and loved him. He was inducted into the East Burroughs Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. The family wishes to thank Bart's nephew, Tad Abel for his love and kindness for the special care he gave to Bart. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday only at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Maurice Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday morning at 10 am.
