Lorraine "Lorrie" Sharpless
8-26-1959 01-23-2023
Lorrie Sharpless, of Swissvale, joined her long-time partner, Gerald LoBianco, Sr., with the angels in Heaven, on January 23, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Sharpless; her sisters Janet Sharpless (Rob Tribou), Anita Bodnar (Don Peterson), and brother Mark Sharpless (Mike Venable); cousins, Denise Bittner (Greg), Marcy Rosswog (Dave) and Sandra Mager (Andrew Wetherington). She was a loving aunt to Corey and Alissa Bodnar, as well as many nieces and nephews to the LoBianco family. She was a wonderful grandmother to Cameron, Madison, Connor and Anthony LoBianco. She treasured her family and friends and showered us with love, in so many ways. Lorrie was a dedicated employee and worked as a registered nurse, for over 35 years, at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital. She reluctantly retired several years ago due to her own health issues. Lorrie devoted her life to caring for others and during her time of need, she had the same exceptional care she once gave her own patients. We would especially like to thank UPMC Mercy Hospital for their utmost compassion and professional service. They comforted her, held her and loved her when she needed it most. Due to her great love and admiration to the medical field, she donated her body to science (Med Cure) hoping for one day to find a cure for diabetes. There are no services planned at this time. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. www.niedfuneralhome.com
